About “Esther’s Petition”

In the 1970’s and 80’s, Bette Cox wrote an occasional newsletter called “Esther’s Petition” (from Esther 4:14, “And who knows whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”)

Designed to inform, inspire, and instruct Christians in how to get involved with the issues of the day, it contained Bible studies and informational articles. In recent years “Esther’s Petition” articles have been part of Bette’s regular website, www.BetteCox.com. This site is another forum for her thoughts and meditations, Bible studies, in-depth articles, or just comments on the way things are in the world today and what Bette believes that we as believers should be doing about it.

  1. Sister Bette, just wanted to let you know that I have added your two sites, Esther’s Petition and Speaking of Heaven to my Blogs Followed page. I follow a lot of blogs and read them all as the Holy Spirit (and time) leads me too. I am going to add your website to my website Links page although it might be a few days before I get to that. I love your writing, and I love your heart and spirit and the way you are free to share the Lord’s blessings despite all that the Lord has allowed you to go through. May we ALL have the courage to follow after our Heavenly Father in ALL circumstances just as you have and are doing! God bless you richly Sis, for your service (ministry) to the Lord and to each and everyone whom the Holy Spirit leads through various sites!!!

    • Roland, I am so blessed and honored that you would do that. Sister Bette brings back many memories of my Bible college teaching days! Most folks just call me Bette or Miss Bette these days. On my main website (BetteCox.com, it’s old and needs updating if I ever have time), there are links to Tim’s and my resumes – we were busy for many years doing whatever the Holy Spirit wanted to do in / with / through / for us. Since Tim died, however, I mostly study, pray, and write. Still play piano for church now and then, usually for communion. No politics, no community activism at present but right now I’m so busy I don’t really miss those activities. Thanks for your encouragement, I would truly appreciate your prayers. In His Grip, Bette

      • Sis, I don’t just use my Blogs Followed list so that I can stay busy reading and such, I use it as an intercessory prayer list for my brothers and sisters who follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to serve (minister) to the Lord and to all of us! You definitely have my prayers Sis!!!
