Who is the “Fat Lady”?

This was written to answer a question from a fellow blogger last week… I thought others might like to read it too.

The Lord has given me several words lately about what is happening in America.

  • If a man could do it, a man could get glory, and the Lord will not share His glory.
  • Having done ALL, stand. Having DONE all, stand. Having done all, STAND.
  • Pray and keep on praying.
  • It’s not over until the “Fat Lady sings.”

As I pondered over who the “Fat Lady” is, I saw a mental image of Lady Freedom atop the US Capitol building in Washington, DC.

It’s a female warrior wearing an eagle helmet and holding a sheathed sword. That statue and its location are definitely worth meditating over.

A few years ago I began writing a blog titled Tapister. (https://tapister.wordpress.com)  A tapister is someone who creates tapestries. I believe the Master Tapister is at work in the world.

For several years one word has echoed in my mind — Watch.

Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 repeat a command: Watch. Be on guard. Be alert. Keep watch. “What I say to you, I say to everyone: Watch!”

Watch for what? Earthquakes. Famines. Fires. Floods. Pestilence. Wars. Revolutions. Persecution of Christians. Betrayal by relatives. Fake Messiahs, working signs and miracles. Great distress. Fearful events. Sun darkened, moon not giving its light. Stars falling from the sky.

Tapister was created to help me and others watch for events and to watch for patterns. Also to tell others and above all, to pray.

Ezekiel 33 describes the duties of the watchman. It is a bit chilling to think how many believers today aren’t paying attention to what God’s watchmen are saying to them.

I haven’t kept Tapister updated much in recent months, there is just so much that bears watching in the world. But my own Watchman vigil certainly continues, it’s part of my personal habit pattern daily, and it’s why I post articles online.

Battle Array

“SHOCK”. That’s the subtitle of the post I wrote on January 1, 2021. https://estherspetition.wordpress.com/2021/01/01/2021/

“Wait and see. Keep praying,” the Lord told me, and so I have been. Since then:

  1. On the evening of January 1 as I was praying before going to sleep, the Lord gave me a mini-vision of an array of angels dressed in battle armor, thousands upon thousands of them in the heavens. Silent and still they stood arm to arm, facing the earth. Above and behind them a fierce spiritual battle was going on, but these warrior angels weren’t taking part in that battle; they were protecting the earth.
  2. On January 2, the Holy Spirit told me, “It’s coming down.” He showed me the warriors descending from the heavens onto the earth. My prayers became even more intense.
  3. On January 3, he said, “The battle is joined.”
  4. On January 4, he added, “We are now on a war footing.”

After that evening I haven’t heard anything specific from him during my night-time prayers. There’s just a deep sense of continued watchfulness.

Despite having received those words, like so many others I was terribly shocked at what happened at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. I realized that the Lord’s word to me about 2021 was coming to pass.

What will happen next? The Lord hasn’t told me. He may or may not. He just keeps saying, “Wait and see. Keep praying.” This is a spiritual battle and it’s not over.

YOU CAN GET BITTER OR YOU CAN GET BUSY

Look at the results of the protests in Washington. The bottom line is, the evidence of fraud was not heard, and Biden’s supporters got what they wanted.

Mario Murillo Ministries

First, let’s be very clear about what did and did not happen yesterday.

Here is what did happen: Antifa and BLM thugs posed as Trump supporters. Their heinous crimes provided the excuse for “friends” of Trump to abandon him.

Yesterday, the majority of Congress threw 75 million Americans under the bus.

Lindsay Graham, now among the worst of the deserters, said something for which he has no proof. He said that Biden was legally elected. He came to that erroneous conclusion out of the sheer tsunami of pressure and the need to survive. He is free now to never support Trump again. And that takes me to what did not happen today.

The evidence of election fraud was never investigated. Not only today, but at no time since the beginning. Nobody was ever allowed to present the case. Every ruling from every court has been the same: rejecting the case…

2021

SHOCK.

Praying these past few days and wondering to myself “What will 2021 be like?” I asked the Lord that question. Usually my question starts a conversation with him, sometimes short, sometimes long, but always more than just one word.

Not this time. I just keep hearing that one word. Shock.

I feel 2021 will be a year like no other. Many people have said goodbye to 2020 with relief, as if somehow turning the page on the calendar will erase all the trauma of this past year. I don’t feel relief, however, I feel wariness. Watchfulness. Spiritual senses on full alert.

I have no idea if this word is a personal message for me alone, for my family, my friends, my prayer partners, for America or the whole world. The Lord isn’t telling me, yet. I simply get an impression, “Wait and see. Keep praying.” And so I have been.

Maybe in the days ahead I’ll hear more of an explanation from him, or maybe events will make it clear. We’ll see.

In the meantime, Joy with a capital J, thankfulness, praise, supernatural peace that passes understanding, healing, health and wholeness, all are ours in the Lord and well worth thinking about.

Esther's Petition

Catchy tune, poignant words. “What’s it all about, Alfie” is a 1966 Burt Barach song, written for the movie Alfie. It was a sad movie. I saw it when it first came out and was sorry I did.

But those words ring around in my head these days as I read so many prophecies, so many news stories, so many opinions from political pundits and religious experts.

Here’s another catchy tune, from 1971. It has better words, straight out of the Bible:

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.”

In the last few weeks, I have watched the Holy Spirit demonstrate the kingdom of God in a variety of ways. Here’s a few instances:

A young college student was tormented by fear after his dad died in his sleep several months ago, terrified that his mother would also…

The Filling of the Holy Spirit

Esther's Petition

HolySpiritMatt311There is a difference between drinking a glass of water and taking a bath – and there’s a difference between receiving the Holy Spirit at salvation (drinking a glass of water) and receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (taking a bath).

Without the power of the Holy Spirit, believers simply can’t live the successful Christian life. Jesus told the disciples, who were already believers and had already received the Holy Spirit (John 20:22), to wait until they received power from on high before beginning their ministry.

Even then, they were filled (refilled) with the Holy Spirit several times. D.L. Moody was asked why he said he needed to be filled continually with the Holy Spirit; he replied, “Because I leak!”

Telling church members what to do without telling them how to get the power to do it (i.e. receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit) is cruel. The following…
